FOR ALL THE PEOPLE USING COMODO FIREWALL AND HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS GAME!

| In order to get this game to work you need to disable defense+ in your Comodo firewall. Click the Comodo firewall icon on your desktop or in the task bar, go to defence+ menu (third icon in the top), click advanced on the left, then defence+ settings (below), and tick the last box (deactivate the defense+ permanently). Reboot the system. It should now run flawlessly. |

This game is the best RTS ever...far superior to command & conquer, WOW etc. Its a game that is so vast it will have you hooked indefinatley.
The only problem is these games are becoming slightly dated...we need a 3rd supreme commander installment soon!!! |
The best RTS

It's just the best RTS there is. I've been playing SupCom and FA since the SupCom beta about 3 years ago (IIRC) and I'm still playing it today. It has the biggest maps, the most units, the most variety, the tactical zoom is awesome (and you'll miss it in every other RTS), but it's mainly the depth that makes it stand out. It doesn't have an easy learning curve but if you want an RTS you can really get into and still be learning things about in 3 years time, this it the one for you. PC games should be that bit more complex in my opinion.
Both games also support lots of different play styles and game styles, from small maps with constant action and micro-management, to huge epic strategic battles, sometimes over several hours. And whether you're a defensive or attacking player, there's ways to make it work for you.
Only real criticisms would be the single player campaigns are a little weak, but you can have endless fun in skirmishes versus the AI or, where the game really shines - against other people, LAN or online. Team games are great fun too.
The gold pack is a complete bargain as well. |
Good game

It's a great game expanded nicely. As others have already given thorough reviews, here are a couple of hints:
Get the 'Sorian AI'. It's much more clever than the default AI and offers a much greater challenge.
Get 'Core Maximizer'. This improves performance quite a lot if you have a dual core or quad core CPU. You really need a fast CPU for this game, but this helps either way. |
