Well worth it

This is a high quality game, considering that it costs only a few pounds and is of the match-three variety. The graphics are nicely done, using lots of gold and rich colours and each new level gives a snippet of info about the ancient cultures of the Mediterranean. The sound effects and music are excellent.

The object is to collect pieces of 7 magical artefacts, by completing 77 levels. Along the way bonus items are collected - bombs, lightning bolts, extra time and swap bonuses - which become crucial as the levels progress and get more difficult. When all pieces are collected the journey ends - but then begins again with many more journeys, each more difficult than the previous.

After completing the first journey a screensaver is unlocked for downloading. It's a very pleasing underwater excursion through the ruins of Atlantis, accompanied by dolphins, sharks and stingrays and also by a relaxing soundtrack.

A word of caution though. I played the trial version via Amazon.com, but when the purchased disk was installed the Amazon downloader prevented play and it was necessary to manually remove every file of the downloader before the game would install properly. I suspect this is a flaw in the downloader and not the disk, as the game itself plays without a hitch.

The Rise of Atlantis is the most compelling addictive and time consuming game. It beats all the jewel matching games. Worth every penny.Gives hours of amusement.

When will I get the screensaver

I find this game compelling but it promises me a free 3D screensaver when I complete the journey and Atlantis is raised. I am now on journey 7! Will I ever get the screensaver?
