I already own Ver.6 of this which actually turned out to be the first Ver.7 so this was going to a friend who has been hinting she would like this product. However, when it turned up I realised that this is actually different in a few ways. Notably 24,000+ greetings cards and customisable projects instead of 22,000+, and 90,000+ premium graphics instead of 88,000+ and 1,000+ fonts instead of 800+. Then there is an enhanced card browser so you can just type in what you are looking for ie `hearts' and anything to do with the word will come up. The interface for this is even easier to use and the Advanced Photo Editing software is very good. I have also just completed a Photo CD for members of our family for Christmas giving a photo slideshow of the past year which has come out very well and includes CD label/envelope templates. Finally, the packaging for this Ver.7 is better, the box is much smaller ie just slightly bigger than a video and inside you still get the fully printed instruction manual and now everything is on one CD.
On installation it took approximately 10mins to be up and running and you still need 2GB of room to accommodate it. When you open the software there are noticeable improvements in navigating the software making projects quicker and easier to access/create. So although I love Ver.6(7) I'm keeping this version and my friend will be getting a surprise very shortly.

Spoiled for choice - and exceptional value for money!

Today is a friend's birthday so the perfect time to put this Greeting Card Factory to the test. I allowed 30 minutes to produce a tailor-made card for her but, instead spent all day on it....
But.... this wasn't because the package was difficult to master (it couldn't have been easier): I found myself browsing through the masses of quality images and designs as I became increasingly engrossed and espoiled for choice. As soon as I found the perfect card, then I browsed a little further and found one even better and so it went on. It was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend my time and my friend received not only the intended personalised card but also a coordinating gift bag, gift card, calendar and had I been throwing a party then there was also the option of producing matching menus, placemats, table place-marker, name tag and even a poster to advertise it and tickets for admission!
When I ordered the software, I had no idea it would produce so much and never anticipated templates for bookmarks, door hangers, giftwrap, masks, craft cards, gift boxes, party hats, envelopes (usually overlooked in card-design software), themed folding mailers, CD labels, address labels and wallets, notecards, photocards (drop in your own photo) and even origami and pop-up greetings cards - the first time I've ever seen software to produce these. There is just so much it will do - or perhaps I should say there doesn't seem to be any stationery that this package won't produce!
Without a doubt, this is an impressive and exceptional package. Despite being a large program with a colossal range of themes, designs, templates etc, it loaded swiftly in less than 10 minutes and was ready to use immediately. It couldn't be easier to use - simply browse through the themes and templates, all of which can be viewed as thumbnails or previewed full-screen and, because there are so many, add those you like to your 'Favourites' as you go along then make your final choice and begin to personalise your card. This is very easy - add a background, greeting, clip-art... the options for personalising are endless and the graphics are good quality and usable - not cheap clip-art, and the greetings are tasteful rather than corny. Text, graphics, backgrounds, borders... anything can be added. There's a vast array of effects to apply to text and if you're not sure what to write, select a greeting theme and a range will pop up for you to choose from - and these can be reworded to suit. Once complete your card (or other project) can be printed, saved as an image, html document or PDF file for emailing/uploading or merged into an email.
I could extoll the virtues of this package all day but instead must summarise by saying that it's the best stationary package I have ever used. It's stable, fast, reliable, highly intuitive (a user-friendly 248 page guide is included should you need it), very easy to use, does more than you could possibly imagine and, most of all, it's both enjoyable and rewarding to use.
Buy with complete confidence because this a purchase you amost certainly won't regret! |

| This is the best card making pack there is.It is easy to use, full of good ideas and has the possibilitys of really making especially for one person. So far all the cards I have made have had the wow ! factor with its the recipients. The printing is made simple which ever shape card you deside to make, really there is nothing that can go wrong. The instruction booklet that comes with this pack is not daunting,it says it as it is and one can just get on with the job.A wonderful gift to give anyone with a computer, they can't fail to love it. |

| This is a superb program which can be used to make all sorts of cards (If you happen to be a Radio Ham it will produce excellent QSL cards!). The ONLY thing I find irritating is the time it takes to start, which seems ages, although it is in fact only about 40 seconds (Windows XP-Pro). You will not be disappointed with the results. |
