WORD-RECOGNITION FUN!!

This is a excellent educational tool for preschoolers and adults wishing to hone their vocabulary - and a great TV-alternative.
Words have to be recognized and formed from a wall of letters that get refreshed as you progress. Target-words offer extra points whereas, repeatedly forming easy small words is "punished" with the appearance of burning letter-tiles that, if let to reach the bottom, end the game.
This is a perfect example of what has come to be known as Casual Gaming. It would be a good idea to download the 60-min trial version from a site, such as REFLEXIVE (you can Google it), and decide for yourself whether this is indeed your cup of tea.
Anybody can make a good game that will run only on a super-computer. This is an example of pure programming genius!

It's probably naff to say Bookworm is entertainment for the whole family, but literally everyone can play it. It's a really simple but clever word game with some built in frustration - you will get to HATE those burning letters.
Installs on your PC and there is no need for the disc after that. Simple interface and it seems to have a good 'dictionary' - something many word games get let down by.
Oh! You won't get away with 'naughty' words no matter how tempting! |
A relaxing brain work-out

I bought this for my Mother-in-law a few years ago, and she has played it almost daily since then. I bought myself a copy a couple of months ago and have played it myself incessantly since then too.
The idea is simple (like all other PopCap games) - just find the words from the jumble of letters on the screen. This is made harder and more interesting by a few tweaks such as extra points for finding certain words and you being penalised for using the same words again or using too many short words in a row.
My daughters both enjoyed playing it on my laptop so much that they have now bought it for their iPod Touchs. Which is handy because it gives me more time to play! |

| I actually bought this game for my mum who has been trying to get it for over a year in the high street shops. She was told by staff at the likes of PC World that this game was no longer obtainable. Oh how she wept. Of course, I knew I could rely on Amazon to produce the goods. Since Christmas, my mum has given my brother and I one go at Book Worm and we both see the attraction of this addictive word game, so much so, we are going to order copies for ourselves. If you like Scrabble and crosswords and the like, you will love this game, but be warned, you will be addicted. Have fun.Bookworm (PC) |

It was delivered on time and exactly as described. Thanks. |
